The luxurious penthouse apartment Alex is spread over the top two floors of Chalet Shalimar in the enclave of Winklematten in Zermatt.
The Klein Matterhorn lift station is a short e-taxi ride away or a 10-minute walk. The lively center of Zermatt is a 15-minute scenic walk away or a short ride in an electric taxi.
This mountain home is the perfect spot for advanced skiers as, when snow permits, you can ski back to the apartment (off piste).
Chalet Alex consists of six spacious twin/double bedrooms, it can sleep 12 people in total, and is perfect for large groups of friends or families.
You enter the apartment on the first floor where is the main sleeping floor. On this floor there are six twin/double bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms and balconies. The two master bedrooms have uninterrupted views of the iconic Matterhorn. Bright and spacious, all furnishings are of the highest quality and all the bathrooms have separate baths and power showers.
A lift takes you up to the living and dining areas which are extremely wide and bright.
The main living areas have lavish sofas that surround the large stone fireplaces.
After a hard day on the slopes, guests can enjoy afternoon tea in peace and quiet while the children are kept entertained in the apartment’s entertainment rooms complete with Apple TV. There is also a guest toilet on this floor.
On the lower ground floor of the building is the shared spa area. There is a fabulous indoor pool, sauna, hammam, and massage room which is shared with the other four-bedroom apartment, situated on the ground floor.
Upon arrival and departure, whether rented on a catered or self-catered basis, you’ll be offered a complimentary shuttle service from the train station or taxi terminal to the chalet.

Rates are based on a self-catered basis.
A 50% of non-refundable deposit is required upon confirmation, while the final balance is due no later than 60 days prior to the arrival date.
Minimum stay: 7 nights, changeover day Sunday.
Check-in time is from 16:00; Checkout time is within 10:00.
