Even though Lech am Arlberg is more popular as a winter destination, this lovely village in the Austrian Alps is worthy even during other season.
In particular, Lech in Autumn is enhanced by the changing-color trees and the less tourists. And there’a lot to do. Here are a few suggestions!
What to do in Lech Am Arlberg in Autumn
HIKING, BIKING AND RUNNING
Now that the summer heat is fading away climbing and hiking are more enjoyable, aren’t they?
The entire Lech Zürs region offers 350km of hiking trails, surrounded by the breathtaking peaks of the Alps and scattered with crystal clear lakes.
You can select between longer or shorter trails, easy or difficult walks. It depends only on you. Just be aware of your physical conditions and don’t forget to check the weather forecast. If you want to feel more secure, hire a guide.
Among all the trails, the most popular is the Green Ring, the summer edition of the White Ring.
Since the White Ring is the longest ski race in the world, the trail is divided in stages and sections to make it more manageable. The main feature of this trail is that it is not only a hike experience in a beautiful nature, but also a way to discover some local legends.
Biking and running are two other alternative ways to keep in shape and enjoy the nature of Lech in Autumn.
THE FOREST POOL

Opened in 2020, it features a 25m pool, a pool with bubble loungers and massage jets, children’s pools, a wave slide, table tennis, tennis and a beach volleyball court, a playground and a kiosk.
It has all you need to enjoy both the fun of a water park and the quiet atmosphere of the forest.

If there’s a thing you cannot miss in Lech during Autumn is riding the cable car of Rüfikopf mountain. The top station of the cable car is at 2,350 m above sea level and thanks to a 360° viewing platform you can enjoy the entire Arlberg region in all directions. It’s a stunning view!
The ride to the top takes about 10-minute.
After taking your photos, you can go to the restaurant or start one of the hiking or biking trails, such as the Green Ring.

With its wonderful colors and cooler temperatures Autumn in Lech is a magical time to enjoy the outdoors. In addition to the activities already mentioned, you can go fishing, play golf, or just explore Lech and the other villages.
In any case, another strong point of Lech is the food.
