7 of the best beaches in Israel
Are you planning a vacation in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv and want to know if there are any beaches worth visiting?
Here is our selection of the best beaches in Israel!
BEST BEACHES IN ISRAEL
Habonim-Dor Beach
Habonim-Dor beach is only one hour drive from Tel Aviv. This stretch of the Mediterranean coast of Israel is wonderful, thanks to the crystal clear sea, a vast expanse of sand, but also the presence of a lagoon and numerous small bays.
Actually Habonim-Dor beach consists of two connected beaches. Much of the beach is part of a nature reserve, so access to the beach is subject to charges in summer. However, the view and the atmosphere are worth it. In addition, there are ancient ruins nearby.
Alma Beach
One of the best beaches in Israel is Alma Beach, between Tel Aviv and Jaffa.
It’s a small beach that certainly doesn’t blow your mind. However, it is a peaceful corner, away from the chaos of the cities. It is the right place to mix with the locals.
Moreover, if you like to travel with your dog, at Alma Beach you can enjoy the sea freely with your pet. However, be aware that the beach is open to dogs even without a leash, so be prepared.
Kalia Beach
Kalia Beach is one of the most popular beaches on the Dead Sea, the large lake so salty that you can float effortlessly. Furthermore, the Dead Sea is the lowest emerged point on the planet. Aren’t these good reasons to visit this beach?
Kalia beach is located not far from Jerusalem, therefore it is perfect for a break during your visit to the city.
It is a large beach, where you can also find a restaurant and a shop selling products with the beneficial properties of the Dead Sea.
The view is unique, with the lake and the barren hills in the background.
Caesarea Aqueduct Beach, Caesare
We could not fail to mention this as one of the most beautiful beaches in Israel!
As the name suggests, the main feature of the Cesarea Aqueduct Beach are the well-preserved ruins of an ancient Roman aqueduct. The long structure dates back to the 1st century BC and it is surrounded by the beach white sand. The sea here is wonderfully blue. It is a unique and very fascinating place.
Sironit beach and Herzl beach
If your idea of the beach has nothing to do with relaxation and includes water sports and parties, the city of Netanya will make you happy. Here you will find several beaches, where you can participate in sports comeptitions, swim, or listen to DJ music every Friday. You can even take a ride on a glass elevator that goes down a cliff overlooking the sea.
We especially recommend the two adjacent beaches of Sironit and Herzl, very similar and both very beautiful.
Eilat Coral Beach Nature Reserve
The Red Sea is famous for its incredible beaches, but also for snorkeling and diving. In fact, the water is clear and the seabed is full of life.
Eilat Coral Beach Nature Reserve is a great place to see the reef, and you can also spot dolphins at Dolphin Ridge. This stretch of coast is definitely one of the best beaches in Israel. Here, you can admire the beautiful colors of the landscape, the varied aquatic life and do many activities related to the sea.
Jizr Al-Zarqa Beach
If you don’t like well-known beaches, we recommend Jizr a-Zarqa beach.
This beach is located near a small authentic Arab fishing village, not far from Caesarea. The beach is rarely frequented, and mostly by the villagers. There are no facilities, just a restaurant which is not always open. In short, it is a wild place where you can get back in touch with nature.
